Web Smarts
What: Two websites offer engaging resources for Black History Month, which has been celebrated every February since 1976.
best points: Read documents authored by African-Americans and published between 1824 and 1909 at the Library of Congress's "From Slavery to Freedom: The African-American Pamphlet Collection" (http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/aapchtml/aapchome.html). The high-resolution reproductions of original publications center on abolition and slavery, African colonization, emancipation, suffrage, and reconstruction. Among the authors are Frederick Douglass and Booker T. Washington.
