I’m reading The Wilde Women by Paula Wall. It’s literate, engaging, and totally hysterical. To wit: After 40 years of marriage, when a husband dies, the funeral is “like a retirement party [for the wife], interrupted by a burial.” I’m a librarian and I can’t stop laughing out loud as I’m reading.
