"Game of Thrones" fans: Disappointed you can't introduce your children to either the George R.R. Martin books or the HBO series because of ... well, the sex and violence and very adult themes?
You’re in luck – a children’s book by George R.R. Martin titled “The Ice Dragon” that seems to be set in the “Game of Thrones” universe is being re-released this fall. It was first published in 1980 as part of the anthology “Dragons of Light” and then came out again in 2007 as its own work.
“The Ice Dragon” follows a girl named Adara who befriends the titular character, a creature that arrives in her area only during the winter. The book will be reprinted with new artwork by artist Luis Royo.
As noted by the Telegraph, the book doesn’t say outright that it’s set in the “Thrones” world of Westeros, but in Martin’s “Thrones” book “A Dance with Dragons,” his character Jon Snow recalls the tale of the Ice Dragon.
“The Ice Dragon” will be republished on Oct. 21, according to USA Today.
