Going to college in Ontario
| Toronto
The post-secondary institutions in the province of Ontario in 1978 had 140, 000 undergraduate students, of whom 55 percent were male and 45 percent female. One out of 10 was from outside Canada.
There were 15,000 students in graduate school, again favoring males (66 percent) over females.
But 53 percent of the 65,000 students enrolled in the colleges of applied arts and technology were female.
