Judge rules Dreamers aren’t entitled to health care. A federal judge ruled Dec. 9 that young adult immigrants known as “Dreamers” will be temporarily blocked from getting health insurance through the Affordable Care Act in 19 U.S. states. The decision curtails an effort by the Biden administration to help immigrants brought to the country illegally as children. The ruling applies to immigrants under 30 years old in 19 states where Republican attorneys general sued to avoid having to comply with the new policy, citing concern over creating strong incentives for immigrants to remain in the United States illegally.
