It’s been confirmed that E3 attendees will get a look at never-before-seen footage of the newest installment of the Assassin’s Creed series. This time around, users will play as a part-English, part-Mohawk Assassin named Ratonhnhaké:ton as he maneuvers through the Revolutionary War. (He is also known as Connor Kenway, ancestor of Desmond Miles, the series protagonist who goes back in time using advanced memory technology.)
Assassin’s Creed III, scheduled for Oct. 30, leaps away from the previous chapters of the series, which highlight romantic locations like Italy during the Renaissance period and Constantinople, capital of the Eastern Roman Empire. So far, video game developer Ubisoft has only released three short trailers, all of which show Kenway battling Redcoats. But Ubisoft has said that “not all British colonists will be cast as evil oppressors,” ComputerAndVideoGames.com reports.
We have a feeling that whoever’s side Kenway will be on won’t include the Templars – who, according to the fiction, traded with the Native Americans in New England and imparted their beliefs on the Founding Fathers. (Hmm…)
