The baby girl of singer and actress Beyonce (aka Beyonce Giselle Knowles) and rap mogul Jay-Z (aka Shawn Corey Carter), Blue Ivy’s name started a ruckus only months after her birth on Jan. 7, 2012. The superstar parents applied to patent Blue Ivy’s name for a line of tot-related paraphernalia, but Veronica Alexandra, a Boston-based wedding planner, beat Blue Ivy’s parents to the patent trading office. Ms. Alexandra won the bid and is now entitled to use Blue Ivy for event- and wedding-related planning, reported CNN.
Not to worry – she may not have her own name brand, but she already has her own music credit. Only two days after her birth, Jay-Z released a single called “Glory” that features his daughter’s crying. “The most amazing feeling I feel/Words can’t describe what a feeling, for real/Baby I’ll paint the sky blue/My greatest creation was you,” Blue Ivy’s dad raps.
Fans of the famous family speculate that “Blue” was inspired by Jay-Z’s “Blueprint” albums and “Ivy” by the number four, for IV. The number four has symbolic significance for the superstar couple: "Beyonce’s birthday is Sept. 4, while Jay-Z’s is Dec. 4, and the two married on April 4, 2008,” People reported.
