General manager Red Auerbach of the Boston Celtics speaking out against a proposed farm system for pro basketball: "Why do we need a farm system? We have the greatest farm system in the world -- the colleges. Anyway, the players in those minor leagues don't stay in shape. for what they're paid in the minors, there's no way the coaches can demand they stay in shape.
