US steel production dips

Domestic raw steel production in November dipped to just under 10 million tons, the lowest level since February 1978, the American Iron and Steel Association reports.

November's total production was 813,000 net tons less than October's total production of 10.8 million tons, and 1.65 million tons less than the November 1978 figure of 11.65 million tons.
