Sakharov, exiled to Gorky, now 'citizen' of Florence

The City Council of Florence, despite objections by Communist members, has voted to confer honorary citizenship on Andrei D. Sakharov, the Soviet dissident , to mark its disapproval of his banishment to the Russian city of Gorky.
