Cover crawl spaces

To the real estate editor: In regard to the "Ask a Builder" column of Dec. 14, in which Ruth Bewersdorf of Cincinnati complained of moisture in her home:

Any crawl space should be covered with six inches of pea gravel and 4-6-mil Visqueen to provide a vapor barrier. Also, all vents in the foundation should be open in the summer and closed in the winter. A. S. Goode Dayton, Ohio
