A 400-man Vietnamese-led patrol unit Sunday intruded a half-mile into Thai territory from Cambodia about 230 miles southeast of here, a Supreme Command spokesman said Monday. He said the unit of Vietnamese and Phnom Penh government soldiers returned to Cambodia after a Thai helicopter equipped with a loud-speaker was sent up to warn them about the intrusion and ask them to leave.
A Supreme Command spokesman last week said there had been a number of instances of Vietnamese armed intrusions and shellings on Thai territory in the past month.
