High-heat paints for gas heater

What paint product will withstand the heat of my circulating gas heater? Dealers around here do not know of such a material. I want to transform the heater face from modern to Pennsylvania Dutch or folk art so it does not look as if I have a washing machine in the living room? Mary M. O'Malveny Walnut Creek, Calif.

There area a number of paint manufacturerers producing what are called "high heat" paints. Usually these are limited to colors such as aluminum and black and are heat-resistant to about 700 degrees F.

Beyond this heat range you may find a material only in an aluminum color.

Why don't you contact your closest large paint store that carries a wide line of industrial paint products. Ask for a high-heat finish. The store will know what you're talking about.
