Afghan insurgents report attacks near Kabul

Rebel soldiers struck within 9 miles of the Afghan capital of Kabul Wednesday , blowing up a bridge and executing officials of the ruling Khalq (Masses) Party , insurgent sources reported. With heavy fighting also underway in eastern Afghanistan, guerrillas struck at targets just north and east of Kabul, guerrilla sources said.
The spokesman's statement, as well as others by Islamic front insurgents and their supporters in Peshawar, could not be verified.
