A SECOND LOOK; THE CHARM OF NEW ENGLAND
March 25, 1980
Indeed, the character of New England is echoed in its farms, fir trees, four seasons, and not least of all its people. The weathered lines of self-reliance are chiseled on the face of a Maine woodsman repairing his ax, as strength of the individual is etched on the profile of New England's Tasha Tudor, distinguished children's book author and illustrator.
The snow-capped pines and ripples from fisherman's oars bespeak with subtle grace the region's serene beauty. While down on the farm, cow and rabbit share their fare to symbolize in a pastoral way New England's diversities.
Reminding us that each day generates a new beginning, a barnyard cat and lamb at twilight time await another tomorrow.
