Iran will combat US economic sanctions by importing through countries such as Libya, Algeria, India, and Pakistan, Iranian planning chief Ezzatollah Sahabi told the Kayhan newspaper Tuesday. Iran is taking into account the possibility that sanctions would also be imposed by the European Common Market, he said.
Mr. Kayhan also quoted Oil Minister Ali Akbar Moinfar as saying the ruling Revolutionary Council had appointed a special commission of council members and ministers to mobilize forces against the American sanctions.
