West Bank Palestinians protest jail conditions

Palestinians in most towns on the occupied West Bank of the Jordan closed their shops and businesses Thursday in a strike for better conditions in Israeli jails where Arabs are held for security offences. Organizations Wednesday called on the International Red Cross to intervene on behalf of some 2,800 prisoners held in Israeli jails.
