Search of Voyager photos reveals 15th Jupiter moon

An analyst searching through photographs taken during the 1979 Voyager missions to Jupiter has discovered a 15th moon circling the huge planet, NASA announced Tuesday. The moon, discovered by Dr. Stephen P. Synnott of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., is 43 to 50 miles in diameter and 3, 000 miles above the Jovian clouds, and it circles the planet every 16 hours, 16 minutes, between the orbits of moons Amalthea and lo.
