Divinely provided companionship
Loneliness can be healed. Not by learning how to adjust to it, or by convincing yourself that it's good for you, but by finding the companionship that you need -- and that needs you. There are no deficiencies in God's kingdom. If we believe there are, if we believe we're lonely because the priceless quality of shared love seems to be missing from our lives, then we are the victims of a misunderstanding about the nature of God's -- Love'sm -- kingdom. As we learn to correct our misconception, the evidence of Love's ever-presence will be revealed to us. Our companionship, already established, will appear.
Isn't true companionship the mutual sharing of good qualities: of joy, intelligence, beauty of character, kindness? These good qualities in their purest form are spiritual, which means they come from God and belong to Him. They are the very substance of our Father-Mother, who is infinite Spirit. They're not yours or mine to possess or lose. They can't be divided up, reallocated, or watered down. We can't ever be separated from them.
Paul says, "Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." n1 Nothing the material senses can claim we've ever had, been, or done -- our parentage, our home environment, our education, our traits of character, our past mistakes, or our present circumstances -- can separate us from the eternally expressed qualities of divine Love. And if we can't be separated from them, we will find our unity with those who share in them, who love them as we do. It is in the very expression of those qualities that we are unified. The love of God, which we find in Christ, unfolds this to us when we appeal to it understandingly, by destroying any unspiritual (and therefore unreal) quality that claims to separate us from the expression of His love.

Mary Baker Eddy n2 defines "Christ" as "the divine manifestation of God, which comes to the flesh to destroy incarnate error." n3 What is the error that claims we are lonely in the midst of infinite Love's eternally loving ideas?

Isn't it the belief that the qualities of God, in which we all truly share without limit, have been divided up among material personalities and intermixed with qualities that are not spiritual? Are we seeing our companionship as lost among a welter of Adams and Eves instead of correctly locating it with God and His spiritual ideas?
What is flesh itself but a belief that the unchangeable qualities of Love can be separated from their divine source and -- in the guise of physical beings -- flit into or out of our lives in response to the vagaries of human will, accident, or death?
God's creation is one indivisible whole, His ideas existing forever in harmony through His own governing intelligence and law. As we begin to comprehend this reality -- that the nature of life and being is unfragmented spiritual harmony -- we will begin to see that nothing can put asunder what God hath joined together. The infinite Mind that knows us knows our companion, and knows that we are notm separated. And as we strive to know this, and actively work to let only His qualities shine in us, the fleshly beliefs of physical separation are subordinated to His will, and we come to experience on earth what He knows in heaven: the manifestation of our divinely provided companionship.
