Amin says he'd like to go home

Idi Amin, the deposed Ugandan dictator, has been located in a Middle Eastern country with the two wives and 24 children who accompanied him into exile. During an interview with a British Broadcasting Company correspondent, Brian Barron, Marshal Amin said he wants to go back to Uganda but does not want to return to power.

He insisted that his whereabouts be kept secret; provided little information about his life in exile or his future plans; and would not permit the filming of members of his family.

"If the people of Uganda want me, I will go back," the former dictator said. He said he would be willing to work with any stable government in Uganda to try to bring unity and reconciliation.
