The Arabian desert is providing rich dividends for a Scots tentmaking company that used to supply canvas for the world's great sailing ships. Originally founded as a ships' outfitter, the Clyde-based company of Black & Edginton has earned $:300,000 ($690,000) of contracts to supply tents to Middle East countries. Another $:500,000 worth of orders is in the pipeline from Arab and African customers.
