Egypt and Israel have agreed to send senior officials to Washington to prepare for a resumption of dead-locked negotiations on Palestinian self-rule, the White House announced Wednesday. A date for meetings among Egyptian Foreign Minister Kamal hassan Ali, Israeli Interior Minister Yosef Burg, and US Middle East negotiator Sol Linowitz will be announced in the near future, the White House Said.
Negotiations on the future government of the occupied West Bank and Gaza strip broke off in late May.
