Three vessels taking part in a Tall Ships race from Boston to Kristiansand, Norway, crossed the finish line early Sunday, Norwegian organizers said. The first to complete the 3,046-mile voyage was the Chilean ketch Blanca Estella. It was followed by the West German barque Gorch Foch and the Norwegian square-rigger Christian Radich.
Officials said the Christian Radich was winner of its class by a wide margin and could also be overall winner of the handicap race. Its main remaining challenger was the Bermuda schooner Christian Ventura, which would not cross the line off Kristiansand for several days, officials added.
