Selective Service Director Bernard Rostker announced Thursday that 93 percent of all eligible military age young men have registered for any future draft. He said that 3,593,187 men had registered as of Aug. 22, and late registrations have continued to arrive. Mr. Rostker said that fictitious names had been weeded out in compiling the registration data and had amounted to "less than 1 percent" of total registrants. He brushed aside claims of antidraft groups that the registration process had been a failure, with from 20 to 33 percent of eligible young men failing to register.
