Campaign Roundup (2)

Despite the efforts of New York Gov. Hugh L. Carey to swing the Liberal Party -- powerful in that state and usually aligned with Democrats -- over to a Carter endorsement, this plum is about to be picked by John Anderson.
A poll taken by The New York Times indicates that Anderson's constituency will draw more heavily from President Carter than from Ronald Reagan in New York , although nationally Anderson draws about evenly from both.
If Anderson succeeds in reeling in the Liberal Party endorsment -- now considered virtually certain -- the expected split in New York's traditionally Democratic voter ranks could mean that Carter might lose the state, not to Anderson, but to Reagan.
