Soviets sentence two, but one gets suspension

Vyacheslav Bakhmin was sentenced to a maximum three years' imprisonment on charges of anti-Soviet slander after being found guilty of passing documents to foreign centers of "anti-Soviet subversion," accusing the authorities of committing political dissenters and religious believers to mental institutions.

In another trial, Lev Regelson, a Russian Orthodox Church historian who had been a leading campaigner against what he termed repression of Christianity in the Soviet Union, was given a five-year according to the official Tass news agency, he expressed repentance for his activities and asked forgiveness.
