What must the Democratic Party do to bring itself back into the mainstream of American presidential politics? Broaden its base. Forge new coalitions. Recruit younger people to run for office. Find someone with charisma like Teddy Kennedy, but perhaps not Kennedy, to provide vision and to rally around.
