What must the Democratic Party do to bring itself back into the mainstream of American presidential politics? Broaden its base. Forge new coalitions. Recruit younger people to run for office. Find someone with charisma like Teddy Kennedy, but perhaps not Kennedy, to provide vision and to rally around.
Who says? Republican national chairman Bill Brock. Brock says he is "worried" about the Democratic Party. Politics should be a contest of debate, he explains. But the Democrats are failing to come up with new ideas.
