Decaffeinated colas may put new zing into the soft drink industry. Royal Crown Bottling Company is selling its new cola, RC-100, in over 50 markets in a few large US cities. RC advertises the drink as 100 percent caffeine-free, 100 percent sugar-free, and with a 100 percent "delicious cola taste."
RC's big rivals are watching to see if the caffeine-free cola finds its "viable niche" in an increasing consumer demand for decaffeinated beverages.m
