Three Algerian envoys are in Washington with Iran's response to US proposals for ending the hostage crisis. The officials are expected to hold talks lasting several days, State Department spokesman John Trattner said. Secretary of State Edmund Muskie said Iranian leaders had drawn up five lists of questions on the US proposal carried to Tehran by the envoys two weeks ago. Although generally aware of the contents of the lists, the department is awaiting formal presentation and explanations by the Algerian envoys.
