December 2, 1980
New York
The Conference Board's help-wanted advertising index rose five points on October, the largest monthly increase for the year. After a steady decline for the first half of the year, the index has been edging upward in the second half. At 122 (1967 equals 100), the seasonally adjusted index now stands 15 points above the 1980 low of 112 registered in June. However, it still rests 40 points below the year-ago level of 167.
