Former 'Weather' activist surrenders in Chicago

Chicago
Bernardine Dohrn, once leader of the violent radical Weather Underground, ended a decade in hiding by surrendering here to a Cook County judge. Her lawyer entered a formal plea of innocent to charges of aggravated battery, mob action, bail-jumping, solicitation to commit mob action, resisting an officer, and obstructing a policeman. The charges, including an aggravated-battery indictment for allegedly kicking a policeman, grew out of the 1969 "Days of Rage" violence in downtown Chicago. The federal charges which put her on the FBI's "most wanted" list have long since been dropped, but Justice Department officials recently said they may be reinstated.
