Ronald Reagan's talent scouts are looking for a woman to be White House press secretary. Sources said the President-elect's top aides have apparently ruled out Jim Brady, who has been Mr. Reagan's chief spokesman at the Washington transition offices, and that a woman with press experience is being considered. At the same time, it appeared the role of press secretary is being downgraded. Edwin Meese III, the top Reagan adviser, made it clear the Reagan White House does not want an "up front" press secretary, as Jody Powell and some of his predecessors have been.
