NATO's naval force in the Atlantic is being readied to sail at short notice, and Christmas leave for sailors will be suspended, sources said. The precautionary measures in case the Soviet Union decides to invade Poland were discussed last week and will be adopted by NATO's defense ministers today (Dec. 9). NATO does not intend to react militarily to a Warsaw Pact intervention but will take these limited steps to ensure that any event in Poland does not extend to other areas, the sources added.
