Sen. William Proxmire said his January "Golden Fleece" award goes to two agencies that sent out similar surveys asking top government employees how they like their jobs.
"The thought of one agency spending taxpayer money to find out if public employees who earn an average of $41,000 a year like their jobs is bad enough," he said. "To have two agencies sending out surveys on that topic is utterly ridiculous."
The questionaires were distributed by the Office of Personnel Management and the Merit Systems Board within two days of e ach other in November, Senator Proxmire said.
