Cambodian noncommunist plans provisional regime

Son Sann, leader of Cambodia's main noncommunist guerrilla movement, has said he will form a provisional government before the UN General Assembly meets next autumn. He made the announcement to several thousand followers after an exhausting trek from Thailand.

Son Sann, who was once Cambodian premier under Prince Norodom Sihanouk, heads the Khmer People's National Liberation Front, which opposes both the Vietnamese-backed government and the guerrillas of the ousted Khmer Rouge administration.* Son Sann, who lives in Paris, said he had received political support from members of ASEAN -- which comprises Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philipines, Singapore , and Thailand -- but hopes for aid.
