Backers of ERA protest against Reagan's stand
January 20, 1981
Washington
A group of about 80 Equal Rights Amendment demonstrators gathered outside the church Ronald Reagan attended to protest the President-elect's opposition to the ERA. Waving banners and pennants, the demonstrators sang pro-ERA songs and held a prayer service outside the National Presbyterian Church.
Elsewhere here, the Americans for Democratic Action passed a resolution to ask Mr. Reagan to resign his membership in clubs that discriminate against women. Earlier the group asked Reagan's attorney general-designate, William French Smi th, to resign his membership in the same organizations.
