Five sentenced to prison in organized-crime trial

Five alleged organized-crime figures convicted of racketeering and extortion were sentenced to prison terms ranging from two to five years after what a Justice Department official called the most successful prosecution of organized crime in the United States. But the five went home after a US district judge stayed their sentences, pending several appeals expected to be filed.
