Women's lobbyists await effects of Capitol drive

Washington
An army of women activists, having stormed Capitol Hill, is waiting to see whether cries for help will be answered or whether another verbal assault will be needed to achieve a range of goals. About 2,500 people, representing 80 women's organizations, went to Congress Wednesday to lobby for such issues as equal pay for equal work, day care, and social security reform. They met with the Congressional Women's Caucus, testified in committee hearings, and fanned out to button hole individual members of Congress.
