The Soviet Union has called for an international treaty banning the neutron bomb. The Soviet delegate told the 40-nation US Disarmament Committee that recent new moves to deploy neutron weapons in Western Europe were causing great anxiety and concern. Referring obliquely to a recent statement by Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger that the US now favored reactivating the neutron bomb project, the Soviet delegate said, "The Soviet Union continues to stand for banning neutr on weapons on a treaty basis and on an international scale."
