The first shipment of US wheat to Iran since the release of the American hostages is on its way, an Agriculture Department official said Thursday. The 25,000 tons of soft white wheat, sold by a private US grain company, was shipped out of Portland, Ore., late last month and is believed to be on the high seas. The Treasury Department recently published regulations clearing the way for normalization of all US-Iran trade.
