In a Monitor article March 27 on an experimental, methanol-fueled auto engine , it was incorrectly stated that the cost of producing methanol is 70 percent more than that of refining gasoline. The statement should have read: "Estimates of the cost of mass-producing methanol put it at about 70 percent that of the current cost of gasoline." The Monitor regrets the error.
