Voluntary limit on cars for US sought by Tokyo

Government leaders plan to hold negotiations shortly with individual Japanese carmakers to seek agreement on some form of voluntary restraints on exports to the United States, official sources said. The industry has staunchly opposed suc h restraints, and the form they might take remains unclear.
