Japanese, Polish unionists plan exchange programs

Poland's Solidarity union and Japan's biggest trade union organization, Sohyo , agreed to promote exchanges of workers between their nations in various fields. The agreement was announced in a statement issued by a Solidarity delegation, led by Lech Walesa, and the 4.5 million-strong Sohyo before the Polish visitors left for home after a six-day visit.

The statement stressed the importance of moral and material assistance to Solidarity by Sohyo.

It also stressed the necessity of exchanging not only workers but experts in the eco nomic, cultural, scientific, and academic fields.
