Raisin crop

All of the United States raisin crop is produced in California, most within a 100- mile radius of Fresno. the San Joaquin Valley has the climate -- long, hot , dry summers and mild winters -- necessary to grow grapes and sun dry them into raisins.

It is best to keep raisins refrigerated in a sealed container or plastic bag. They can also be frozen for l onger storage and will thaw quickly at room temperature.
