Filipinos pour out to vote; Marcos landslide in view

Millions of voters ignored an opposition boycott of the Philippines' first presidential elections in 12 years and gave President Ferdinand Marcos an expected overwhelming lead for a new six-year term. Initial returns showed Mr. Marcos receiving 86 percent of the votes cast. Voting was compulsory for anyone 18 years old and above and failure to vote was p unishable by six months' imprisonment.
