The United States and Mexico have formed a joint commission to resolve trade disputes. President Reagan and Mexican President Jose Lopez Portillo agreed in Washington talks earlier this month to improve trade and other relations between the two countries.
Over the past several years, those relations have deteriorated because of a number of economic disputes ranging from Mexican natural gas prices to the influx of illegal aliens into the US.
Mexico is the United States' thirdbiggest trading partner, and some US officials think it could increase that standing in the coming decade.
