For the first time as many as 200 US cities will be working as a team to lure overseas investors. AN unprecedented "Invest in America's Cities" exhibit and conference will be held in Zurich in late October. Sponsored by the Us Conference of Mayors, the four-day meeting is expected to draw 2,000 European businessmen in every field from real estate to electronics. Up for discussion at the seminar sessions: US tax laws, regulations, and the nature of the labor market.
Until now most of the courting of foreign companies has been done by states, regions, or particular industries. They have been successful -- attracting more than $50 billion in fo reign investment in the last decade.m
