Labor secretary takes part in baseball talks

Secretary of Labor Raymond Donovan joined the baseball strike talks to "express the voice of the American people" and try to break the 35-day- old stalemate. He was to speak to both sides to advise them of the administration's concern over their prolonged dispute. He was expected to tell them that if they do not reach agreement by Friday, he will want them to go to Washington and meet there until they reach an ac cord.
