Turk charged with trying to kill Pope goes on trial

Turkish terrorist Mehmet Ali Agca goes on trial today (July 20) on charges of trying to kill Pope John Paul II. The trial of Agca, also charged with wounding two American tourists in the May 13 assassination attempt in St. Peter's Square, is expected conviction on charges of trying to kill the Po pe carries an automatic life sentence without parole.
