Rescue pushed in India as rains strand 100,000

Army and civilian authorities stated a rescue operation in the western Indian city of Jaipur, where 100,000 people have been reported homeless after four days of heavy rain.
Road, rail, and commercial air links have been cut off from surrounding areas to the city, renowned for its distinctive buildings of rose-pink colored stone, after what some newspape r reports described as the heaviest deluge in 250 years.
